the vellum skinned drum

Taking the notion of performance as integral to this prototype, within the gallery space a drum was installed which the public could 'play' . When a quill was moved across the vellum surface of the drum skin, a sequence of sounds derived from medieval musical scales and Wishart's composed sound and musical phrases were triggered in the space.
